The Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj, accompanied by the director of IKSHPK, Naser Ramadani, and the director of SHSKUK, Basri Sejdiu, visited Peja today, where they talked with the local government and health authorities about the Covid-19 pandemic and how to management of the situation in this municipality, is announced through a press release.
Zemaj has expressed the commitment that the MOH supports the municipalities with capacity building to ensure that the situation is managed correctly until the end.
"With the mayor of this municipality, Gazmend Muhaxherin, we talked about the concerns created by Covid-19, we expressed our views on how to reduce as much as possible this risk that is threatening the health of citizens, as well as about the projects that we will carry out in the future. We agreed. for the emergency headquarters to continue to be on alert, for health services to be decentralized (and not only at the central level) and for the Inspectorate to be maximally active to influence compliance with anti-Covid-19 measures," said Zemaj.
"Peja will be the priority of my engagement, and certain projects will be supported, and logistical assistance will be provided for health in this municipality," he said.
During his stay in Peja, the Minister and his associates also visited the General Hospital of Peja.
He was informed by the director of this hospital, Skënder Dreshaj, about the work being done there as well as the challenges for the management of the pandemic.

Zemaj said that the MOH will strengthen the hospital's capacities in order to cope with cases of Covid-19, but also to strengthen the health services in this hospital.
During the visit there, an ambulance was allocated to the General Hospital from the part of the EU assistance for response to Covid-19 in Kosovo.
