The Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology is the only one that conducts testing for coronavirus in Kosovo. However, with the increase in the number of infected people, this institution is also overburdened.
For this, the Ministry of Health will distribute devices for testing people suspected of being infected with this virus in regional hospitals.
Minister Armend Zemaj said that they are looking at the possibilities of purchasing some other devices for the needs of these hospitals, KOHA reports.
In this Institute there are 4 devices for performing these analyses, two of which are donations, one from the Faculty of Medicine, as well as the other from the Kosovo Agency for Medical Products.
However, two other institutions, the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the Food and Veterinary Agency, have offered their equipment for use in case of need.

This will be done through the WHO Office in Pristina and USAID. As well as 4 Real Time PCR machines through the USAID office and the CDF.
But whether these devices were purchased, IKSHPK has not returned an answer.
In addition, IKSHPK lacks human resources. Only 29 microbiologists work there.
