Salih Mustafa's detention in the Specialized Chambers in The Hague has been extended for two months.

According to this decision, Mustafa will remain in detention for another two months. Judge Guillou within this period will examine whether the reasons for the detention still exist and will then make a decision to end or continue the detention.
The reasons given for the continuation of Mustafa's detention are that there is a risk of his escape, then that he may hinder the progress of the procedure by interfering with the victims and witnesses, and that he may commit other crimes.
Salih Mustafa is the first person arrested by the Special Court. He was arrested on September 24 and the indictment for war crimes was confirmed.
