The Council of Specialists protested in front of the Ministry of Health on Thursday, expressing dissatisfaction with some decisions of this ministry.
Representatives of the protesters have said that their demands have been ongoing for a year. The specialists are demanding that even those who are on subsidies get the status of regular specialists, receive a decent salary and that their salaries are not delayed. They also requested the payments for the custodianships, but also that the nine specialists from Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania be paid and not be left without a single cent.
"We specialists, representatives of all clinics, are protesting and challenging even the cold and the temperature because we are obliged for our basic rights and conditions that have not been met for a year now. They can only be done for one day. But the political will is lacking. They are trying to save the state budget and public money at the expense of new specialists and doctors", they said.
A representative of the specialists said that the Kurti Government is continuing with the "strategy of promises", complaining about their non-realization.
"Let them turn this strategy of promises into a strategy of action", he said.
He warned that if their demands are not met, the protests will continue.
"Don't take us away from Kosovo", "specialists who have been on the road for 1 year", "evaluate the doctors", "while we wait for the conditions to ripen, our desires are rotten", "1 year for an issue that can be resolved in a day" , "stop the 'brain drain'", were some of the slogans that the specialists placed in front of the fences of the ministry's facility.
