The Assembly of Kosovo will continue its work today at 10:00 with the 32 points remaining from Thursday's session.
We recall that Thursday's plenary session began with the replacement of two deputies from the ranks of PDK, with the new deputies Rashit Qalaj and Isak Shabani, who took the oath. Subsequently, on the PDK proposal, with 80 votes in favor, MP Enver Hoxhaj was elected Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
Then, the chairmen of the parliamentary groups expressed their views on the conduct of the last local elections in Kosovo, thanking the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo for the prudence and culture shown throughout the election process.
Further, the session continued with the statements out of the agenda and the questions of the deputies, for the members of the government cabinet, who answered some of the issues raised.
The session continued with the debate convened by the AAK Parliamentary Group, regarding the Government's actions on energy diversification alternatives and especially the Gas Project with the MP.

MP Ramush Haradinaj, as a representative of AAK and initiator of this debate, presented the importance of the project, assessing that it enables the improvement of Kosovo's electricity system, obtaining economic benefits, creating energy reserves, and strengthens the inclusion of women in the sector energy, reducing gender inequality in the sector.
From the ranks of the LVV WG, the deputy Haki Abazi took the floor, who demanded that the Gas project with the MP should not be seen as a problematic and aggravating project of relations with America. Therefore, according to him, the discussion on this topic should never extend to this level. On the contrary, he said that such a project strengthens Kosovo's relationship with the United States and improves the state of the energy sector, which, as he said, is also in the interest of the Government of Kosovo.
From the ranks of the PDK WG, the deputy Ferat Shala took the floor, who considered important the MÇ project, but who asked for more detailed information from the Government. He asked some questions about the benefits that Kosovo will have from this project and its consequences, if not accepted as such.
While from the WG of LDK, MP Driton Selmanaj said that the benefit of the project should not be seen only from the economic point of view, but also in the context of security and strengthening the international subjectivity of Kosovo. The major idea of this project, according to him, is the extension of the gas network and the inclusion of Kosovo in this network.
From the ranks of AAK, Besnik Tahiri showed that this project has three key elements, such as: the country's energy security, national security and geostrategic and geopolitical position, as well as the partnership with the United States.

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Albin Kurti presented his views, emphasizing the advantages that Kosovo will have if it approves it after its review by the Government. The head of the government, among other things, said that the Government of Kosovo has not set conditions for the MoH, nor has the MoH set any conditions for the Government of Kosovo.
"This is an unconditional partnership report. Simply, the Government of Kosovo is carefully evaluating the project and the impact on energy prices", emphasized Prime Minister Kurti.
On the other hand, the Minister of Economy, Artane Rizvanolli, announced that together with Prime Minister Kurti today they have started work on drafting the National Energy Strategy 2022-2031, which, according to her, is the first strategy based on data of studies.
As the Minister announced, the works on this strategy are expected to be completed in March 2022 and then it will be brought to the Assembly for approval. Rizvanolli also stressed that relations with the US and the MG are excellent and that they have never been and will never be endangered.

The parliamentary debate continued with a series of discussions by other members of the Assembly, who presented their views and those of the groups they represent, regarding the issue under discussion.
Members of the Government, for their part, gave clarifications on the issues raised by the deputies. At the end of the debate, as the initiator, MP Haradinaj presented the proposed resolution. After the vote, with 21 votes for and 46 against, the Assembly did not approve the proposed resolution./KP/
