The Bishop of the Diocese of Pristina-Prizren, Dodë Gjergji, conveyed the message of peace and harmony among people around the world, at the central mass held last night at the "Saint Teresa" Cathedral, on the occasion of the Easter holiday.
Inviting Catholic believers to celebrate this great holiday with prayers for peace and hearts filled with hope and joy, Bishop Dodë Gjergji called for peace and reconciliation throughout the world as a common goal for the good of humanity.
"Although this Easter finds us in a bloody world, in a divided Europe and in a Kosovo that groans under the burden of political irresponsibility, uncertainty about the future and unnecessary divisions, we are invited to maintain the peace of mind, the brightness of hope and the comfort of faith, because we who have believed in the Risen Christ are called to become a force that stands the test of time, no matter how difficult it may be," said Dodë Gjergji, reports "KosovaPress".
Bishop Dodë Gjergji has said that Easter is not simply a calendar date or a custom that is repeated every year, but a living event in our lives.
"This does not mean remaining silent in the face of evil, but facing it with love, challenging it with the force of truth, and entrusting our cause and our time to God, for this is befitting the children of Light, reborn through Baptism. I pray to God that this Easter may become a new beginning for all, where peace and reconciliation among ourselves, with others, and throughout the world, may become our common goal," he said.
Today, on Easter Day, at 11:00 a.m., a mass will be held for Catholic believers at the "Saint Mother Teresa" Cathedral, while at 19:00 p.m., Bishop Dodë Gjergji will organize a solemn reception at the "BogdaniPolis" Center.
