19 patients infected by Covid 19 are lying in the Infectious Clinic, where one of them is in critical condition and is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit, while two others are in oxygen therapy.
The acting director of the Infectious Disease Clinic, Arben Vishaj, said that in the last three days there has been a greater flow of patients who have requested services.
"At the moment, we have a total of 19 hospitalized patients at the Infectious Disease Clinic. These last two or three days we have had a greater flow of patients lying down. Of them, we have three patients in intensive care, one of them is in a very serious and critical condition, he is intubated. And 12 other patients are on oxygen therapy," Vishaj told KSP.
Vishaj says that they are carefully and attentively analyzing the situation and accordingly they are taking the necessary measures in order to be ready for the reception of the new possible influx.
"A trend is being observed, an increase in the number of infected everywhere on the continent and in other countries. Without a doubt, the arrival of the large influx of our citizens and the presence of new forms of the virus, especially Delta, which should be current in our country as well. There was such a presence of the beginning of a new wave", adds Vishaj.
Since the presence of new variants of the virus is inevitable, Vishaj calls for vaccination of citizens.

"Vaccination is the best possible way. It is also necessary and the vaccination should be as soon as possible. Because this is the best form of protection for our citizens. Whereas the measures recommended by the Institute, the citizens of our country must implement them and must implement them rigorously because they help the population even more so that they do not get infected", he emphasizes.
The leader of the Infectious Disease Clinic told KosovaPress that the only solution is for citizens to be vaccinated, as it is expected that there will be a new wave of spread of the COVID-19 variant. It shows that there are vaccinated patients who are being treated, but that the same ones manifest milder clinical forms.
"We have also had patients who have been lying down and who are now lying down and have been vaccinated. However, we noticed that these patients manifested milder clinical forms. It means the purpose of the vaccine is that after being vaccinated, you do not end up in a very severe form so that the possibility of treatment is limited", says the Director of Infectious Diseases.
