Two female climbers rescued after several hours of searching in the Sharr Mountains

In the early hours of Thursday, after several hours of searching, two foreign nationals who had been lost in the Sharr mountains were found. 

Police have announced that the two women were staying at a hotel in Brezovica and on Wednesday morning had set off for a mountain hike in the Sharr Mountains, but that along the way, due to difficult conditions and unfamiliar terrain, they lost their way.

"Around 20:50, the Ferizaj Regional Police, respectively the Police Station in Shtërpcë, received information that the two climbers had lost their way and were somewhere in the mountainous area of ​​Sharr, but without knowing their exact location. Through an audio recording, they had shown their serious condition and the inability to continue further," the announcement states.

The police requested the assistance of the Kosovo Security Force and the Kosovo Mountain Search and Rescue Service. After several hours of intensive searches and coordinated efforts, on May 22, at around 03:00, the two foreign nationals were found in the mountains of the village of Gotovushë.

"They were immediately transported by ambulance to the Health Center in Štrpce. According to doctors, their condition is stable, except for a minor leg injury to one of them," the KP further announced.
