A friend of the protests, Bujar Dugolli believes that Kurti will bring positive changes

Albin Kurti and Bujar Dugolli started their association in 1997, in the organization Independent Union of Students of the University of Pristina.

Albin Kurti was also one of the leaders of the historic student protest on October 1, 1997, which was brutally suppressed by Milosevic's police.

After his arrest by Serbian forces, on March 13, 2000 in Nis, Kurti was sentenced to 15 years in prison, but as a result of international pressure, he was released on December 7, 2001.

On April 23, 2003, Kurti graduated from the Faculty of Computer Science and Telecommunications at the University of Pristina and continued to be a human and civil rights activist. In 2004, the Vetëvendosje Movement was also founded, which, since 2010, turned into a political party.
