The first victim of the coronavirus was recorded in Kosovo. An 82-year-old man from the village of Duminca e Podujeva died in Infectivë.
KOHA learns that it is about the father of a person who was also infected with the coronavirus. This person had arrived from Italy weeks ago.
Relatives of the victim had said that he also suffered from chronic diseases.
The news has also been confirmed by the National Institute of Public Health in Kosovo:
The Infectious Clinic informed that today, the 82-year-old patient from Dumnica e Podujeva died on 22.03.2020 at 9.00.
This is the first case of death from COVID 19.
The patient born in 1938 Dumnicë village, Podujeva Municipality was admitted to the Infectious Diseases Clinic on 16.03.2020 on the 6th day of the disease with signs of pulmonary infiltration and massive pneumonia on the left and was diagnosed in the Laboratories of IKSHPK with SARS-CoV-2.
The patient also had chronic concomitant diseases: cardiac and chronic lung disease (COPD).
The case in question is contact from his son and his positive daughter.
All contacts recommended for self-isolation.
