The detention of the espionage suspect, Fatmir Sheholli, has been extended for another two months.

Sheholli will be in custody until March 9.

"Following the request of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo for the extension of the detention measure in the criminal case against the defendant F.SH. due to the well-founded suspicion that he has committed the criminal offense of Espionage continuously, the preliminary procedure judge, after reviewing the request, on 09.01.2026 through a Decision, approved the request of the SPRK, so that the detention measure was extended for a period of 2 months," said the spokesperson for the Basic Court in Pristina, Mirlinda Gashi.

Sheholli was arrested on October 9th following an operation by the Police, Special Prosecution Office and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency. Following the arrest, his apartment in the capital was also raided.

The Prosecution's file states that Sheholli was recruited by the Serbian BIA and that he had specific tasks, with which he violated security and legal order in Kosovo.

After the war, he maintained ties with Serbian politicians in Kosovo, and was active at the Institute for the Advancement of Interethnic Relations.
