The United States of America has expressed concern and disappointment about the action of the Kosovo authorities in the north, for the closure of parallel structures in the northern municipalities.
In a reaction of the American Embassy in Kosovo, Friday's action in the north was described as "the continuation of uncoordinated actions undertaken by the Government of Kosovo, which continue to have a direct and negative impact on the Serbian community and other minority communities in Kosovo".
In response, it was said that this action "was not coordinated with any element of the international community".
"The United States and our international partners have continuously asked the Government of Kosovo to prioritize coordination with the international community and not to take unilateral actions on the issues on the EU-facilitated dialogue agenda. The failure of the Government of Kosovo to respond to these demands reflects the real and growing deterioration of our partnership", the reaction says.
In response, the US Embassy in Kosovo has said that "the uncoordinated actions of the Government of Kosovo put the citizens of Kosovo and KFOR soldiers at greater risk, unnecessarily escalate regional tensions and undermine the reputation of Kosovo as an internationally reliable partner".
The USA has said that the Government of Kosovo is instrumentalizing the Police and that it is not living up to its promise of "continuous consultation and coordination with the international community".

In this communiqué, the USA has also said that these actions of the Government of Kosovo will affect the quality and nature of cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its subordinate elements.
On Friday afternoon, the Government of Kosovo announced that in an action of the Kosovo Police, five objects of Serbian parallel structures were closed in the four municipalities in the north of the country.
