PSD saddle: Vucic's conditions, a signal that the Association will be founded

azdren shala

Azdren Shala of the Social Democratic Party has said that the demands presented by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, presented as prerequisites for "significant dialogue", are a signal for the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority. In KTV's "Interaktiv", Shala said that all the conditions presented by Vuçiqi are to shape the Brussels Agreement.

Vucic has presented five measures that his country will undertake "after the recent tensions" in the north of Kosovo. In a conference for journalists, Vuçiqi, in addition to the measures, also revealed seven demands on the issue of the "problem of the Kosovo Serbs", as "necessary preconditions for significant progress in the dialogue". Among them, he listed it for announcing and holding "free and democratic local elections" in the north, with the participation of the mission of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and with the supervision of the European Union (EU). , that for the return of policemen and officials of the justice system to their workplaces, the formation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority, the withdrawal of special units of the Kosovo Police from the northern region, the immediate implementation of the "guarantees of the European Union and the United States from December 28, 2022, the immediate release of all political prisoners arrested by the Kosovo Police" and making payments to the north in the Serbian currency, dinar.

"The conditions are a signal, a warning - which Vucic clearly knows is close - they are the preconditions that the association will be established in Kosovo, and he knows that currently Serbia's position is very favorable", said Shala.

He also stated that if the international community increases the pressure to have new elections in the municipalities in the north, then "this will be done". The demand that policemen and officials of the justice system return to their jobs, according to Shala, is to give shape to the Brussels Agreement.

"These conditions, more than the current situation, are warnings that this is the form of what the Association will look like. If not today, if not in the next few months, whenever the Association is founded we will see them implemented and this is the form of how the Association will be. It is an agreement, a political product that practically cements Kosovo's separation and gives autonomy to the Serbs. When you give autonomy to the Serbs, you give it to Serbia. They will be Vucic's instrument and will never be freed from Belgrade", he said.
