Working hours are again limited due to the heat

The Ministry of Health has again issued a decision to limit working hours due to high temperatures. 

The decision takes effect from Wednesday, August 14, and lasts until August 17. 

The measures that will be implemented include: 

From 14.08.2024, until 17.08.2024, working hours are limited;

1.1 During this period of extreme heat, it is recommended to change working hours to avoid working during the hottest hours of the day, from 11:00 to 16:00;

1.2 Apply flexible working hours, which means allowing workers to start work earlier in the morning or work from home if possible;

1.3 Pregnant women to be released from work during peak heat hours 11:00 — 16:00, or work from home;

1.4 In the hours 11:00 - 16:00, work is prohibited for citizens affected by chronic diseases, or to work from home;

1.5 To stop works in the construction sector, which are exposed to the sun during the hours 11:00-16:00;

1.6 To distribute information through sources of information and brochures and other informative materials for citizens about ways of heat protection;

1.7 Provide medical checks for employees who show signs of heat stress and who have been exposed to extreme heat;
