Serbia continues to rehabilitate war criminals in high positions

The state that claims membership in the European Union continues to rehabilitate the Serbian generals, under whose responsibility crimes occurred during the war in Kosovo and in other areas of the former Yugoslavia.

Finally, Bozhidar Delić, the retired general who led a brigade during the war in Kosovo, where the worst crimes against Albanians took place, was elected vice president of the Serbian Assembly.

Analyst Branislav Kërstić says that the government in Serbia is proving that it has not changed the approach applied by the Milosevic regime in 1999.

"The negative principle of selecting people from the government in Belgrade made the mafia and criminals become part of the top of the state. In the Serbian political scene, but also in the Serbian List in Kosovo, the pathology of Vučić's government is clearly visible and is becoming more and more visible. "Serbia is deeply poisoned by Serbian nationalism, false religion and illusions, and I fear that it will remain so in the heart of Europe," said Krstiq.

This action has alarmed human rights activists in Serbia and Kosovo.

Natasha Kandiq from the Humanitarian Law Fund, told public television that the election of Delic fits the country's political framework.

"Bozhidar Delliq has been in the area of ​​Prizren, Rahovec, Suhareka, Dragash. A large number of crimes have occurred in those municipalities. Over two thousand civilians killed have been documented, mortal remains of more than 450 killed have been found. These are sufficient reasons for the prosecution to be taken seriously and file an indictment, but nothing happens and is not expected", said Kandiq.

Bozhidar Delliq belongs to the right-wing party NADA, while earlier he was a member of the radical party and the Progressive Party of Vucic.

The main political and military figures in Serbia today are exponents of the Milosevic regime, which was responsible for the wars in the former Yugoslavia.

The current president, Aleksandër Vučić, was the Minister of Information, while the current Speaker of the Assembly, Ivica Dačić, was Milosevic's spokesman.

There are also a number of former generals convicted and suspected of participating in crimes, who continue to be promoted and rehabilitated by the Serbian state.
