Kosovo Serbs today in Graçanica have gathered since the morning hours to celebrate Vidovani, this date which is celebrated in memory of the Battle of Kosovo.
The Serbian media reports that the Serbian patriarch Porfirije will serve in the liturgy in the Gracanica Monastery, which started at 8:30 in the morning.
While afterwards the patriarch will honor the Serbs who fell in the Battle of Kosovo, starting at 12:30 p.m.
The celebration of this day is connected with the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, which Serbian history recognizes as its spiritual victory, despite a great loss of the Balkan forces and the murder of the Serbian prince Lazar.
The celebration of the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo in 1989, under Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, culminated in the culmination of nationalism in the former Yugoslavia, with the so-called proclamation of Serbia's unification, through the overthrow of Kosovo's autonomy and the warning of the bloody wars that led to the destruction of the former Yugoslav federation.
