SBASHK protests, MESTI opens the first public call for teachers aiming for the "Advanced License"

On the day when the SBASHK organized the protest to demand a salary increase for teachers and the signing of the collective contract, the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MASHTI) opened the first public call for teachers who intend to receive the "Advanced License ” for teaching. 

The Minister of Education, Arbërie Nagavci, has indicated that the call applies to teachers of primary education, lower secondary and upper secondary education in the subject of mathematics and lower secondary education and upper secondary education in the language subject Albanian. 

"This is the first public call that MESTI makes for public school teachers in Kosovo. The call applies to teachers of the following profiles: primary education teachers; teacher of the subject 'Mathematics' in Lower Secondary Education (AMU) and Higher Secondary Education (AML); teacher of the subject 'Albanian language' in Lower Secondary Education (AMU) and Higher Secondary Education (AML). The application can be made through the e-kosova platform from today until 19.12.2024. All those who will successfully complete this process will benefit from the performance bonus. Together, every day for targeted results and advancement of performance in education", wrote Nagavci in a post on Facebook. 

Only teachers who have a career license and who have completed at least 200 hours of professional development can apply for the advanced license.

They will then be subject to evaluation by the Education Inspectorate.

Seven years after receiving this license, teachers can apply for a permanent license, which has no time limit and does not need to be renewed.
