Rukiqi estimates that the delays in the creation of the government are causing great damage to businesses

Delays in the creation of the government are not only affecting the country's budget, but they are also causing great damage in reducing the confidence of businesses. This is what the director of the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo, Berat Rukiqi, said in a meeting with the association of craftsmen and businessmen ESNAF-Prizren, this meeting was held to examine the possibility of a cooperation link in support of the private sector.

Rukiqi said that in the measurement of the last quarter of 2019, a blockade of businesses was seen, which affected the reduction of the business conference. And all this happened because of the delay in the election process and delays in the creation of the government.

"As for the delays, I want to emphasize once again the fact that we only have effects related to the budget or the possibility of delays in the approval of the budget, but we have much greater damages in the performance of businesses that have been observed in recent months in the measurement indicator of these businesses, we have the first results and they are not encouraging enough for the last three months of 2019, which has influenced the decrease in the confidence of businesses, precisely from these long blockades, either from the moment they are announced the elections, then also in the finalization of the election result that would have to be crowned with the creation of the government", said Rukiqi.

He also spoke about the recent agreements proclaimed by President Trump's mediator with the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, where he said that during 2013, they initiated a technical dialogue with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia.

According to him, the elimination of barriers in general, existing technical barriers and other barriers that prevent the free movement of goods and people with Serbia were discussed as the main topic.

Rukiqi said that due to the developments that followed from the Serbian obstruction in many other areas that resulted in the imposition of the tax, there was no progress at that time.

"In 2013, we initiated a technical dialogue with the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and three issues were, three main topics, the elimination of barriers in general, technical barriers that exist and other barriers that prevent the free movement of goods and people with Serbia and the second was this part which is related to infrastructure, three elements that are important for transport, rail transport, airline and the third was the part of postal services, due to the developments that followed from the Serbian obstruction in many other areas that resulted in the imposition of the tax did not progress at that time, but we have considered them as agreements of a general package that enable the free movement of goods and services and people between Kosovo and Serbia and normally using the infrastructure that we will build between the two countries for the connection with the important international corridors", he said.
