The price of derivatives in Kosovo has risen in recent weeks.
These prices have increased by about 10 cents, while compared to last year prices have increased by 20 cents.
Currently, the price of derivatives in Kosovo reaches 1.19 euros for diesel, while for gasoline up to 1.22.
The association of oil workers told KosovaPress that the prices have undergone some changes this year.
President of the Kosovo Oilmen's Association, Fadil Berjani says that this price increase has come as a result of the international stock market.

"Regarding the price increase, we gas stations in Kosovo are traders. The price is dictated by the stock market and by the production organization OPEC. In Kosovo, the prices are 1 - 19 euros... "We have appealed to the Customs, even in writing, to control the quality as much as possible, because the citizens are safer to have a better fuel… we have little quality control", he said.
Whereas, the citizens of Kosovo are recently paying more for the fuel they consume their vehicles.
Citizen Naser Dervisholli, said that fuel prices are expensive and are not reasonable compared to countries in the region. He demands that prices be reduced because they are unaffordable for citizens.

Chairman of the Council for Consumer Protection within MTI, Sherif Fejzullahu, told KosovaPress that economic operators should always work based on market rules, not harming consumers, because even so a part of citizens are in poverty.
"The increase in the prices of derivatives captures a very wide dimension of the economy in Kosovo, because it also affects other consumer prices, because it is a chain. Therefore, we ask that the sellers of derivatives be careful and not act outside the allowed norms, but to have a discipline for the prices and quality of the derivatives. Competent institutions must strongly monitor this market, so that this fraud does not end up in the pockets of consumers", Fejzullahu emphasized.
Even the president of the Consumers Association, Selatin Kaçaniku, told KosovaPress that the prices of petroleum products, before the eyes and noses of institutions, associations, mechanisms and government increase when there is any movement in the World Stock Exchange. But, according to him, when those prices fall on the World Stock Exchange in Kosovo, the analogy does not happen.
