The spokesperson of the Central Election Commission, Valmir Elezi, stated that according to the plans, the process of the local elections in the north, which will be held on April 500, is expected to cost about 23 thousand euros.
He declared on Tuesday on KTV's "TODAY" that the eventual second round of elections is also planned for this amount, but that all this will be known at the end of the process.
Elezi emphasized that 11 candidates have applied for mayors, and about 60 for assemblymen of Serbian municipalities. He said the application process has ended, and now the application phase of election observers is underway.
"During 2022, the CEC certified 11 candidates in the race and over 60 for municipal assemblies. For these subjects, the CEC did not develop a new application process in March, but only received confirmation of the application. The deadlines for the application of observers are continuing and the application from political subjects has started from March 10 to April 17. For media, organizations, the application started on March 10 and will close on April 18 (40-day deadline)", he declared.
The spokesperson of the CEC said that they still do not have the final number of citizens with the right to vote in these elections, but in the last registrations of this institution, about 45 voters were recorded.
For the extraordinary elections in North Mitrovica, Zveçan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviq, Lisa Serbe has not applied for participation.
