Rohde: Kosovo's priorities are the fight against corruption and dialogue with Serbia

The German Ambassador to Kosovo, Jörn Rohde, says that it is essential that after February 14, Kosovo has a stable government that works with dedication to the development of Kosovo in order to have more good news from Kosovo.

"Beyond the agreement about the issue of the president as the first priority for the new government, I see the work as effective as possible to overcome the comprehensive and destructive economic, financial and social consequences caused by the pandemic," said Rohde for KP.

He said that he sees two other priorities for the next government of Kosovo.

"Besides, I see two priorities for Kosovo: First, it is high time for the new government to seriously start 'replacing words with deeds' by fighting corruption and crime in a fundamental way. Second, dialogue with Serbia. A new and stable government with strong parliamentary support needs to invest political capital and political will in this EU-facilitated dialogue – as Serbia needs to do,'' he concluded.

The German ambassador in Kosovo has also requested transparency and respect for the February 14 elections from all the actors involved.
