In Ribar i Madh, Lipjan, residents have been without electricity for four days now after strong winds knocked down poles in their yards. Residents have sought a solution from KEDS and have also said that the poles should now be placed on the street.
In the garden of Brahim Duriqi's house in the village of Ribar i Madh in Lipjan, an electric pole has been lying down for several days now.
As a result of strong winds, since Thursday, his house and about 20 other houses in the village have been left without electricity supply.
"Actually, since Thursday after the rainfall that has fallen, which has caused these problems of falling poles, I have not had access to enter my property by car. Not only me, but many other families have been left without electricity, but since I live in Lipjan, it is not so much a problem for electricity, but for these residents, for these other families who are here, it is a real problem. Now the weather has started to get cold and it is really a big problem," said Duriqi.
There are similar poles in the yards of other houses in this village, which is why Duriqi has requested that the problem be solved with new poles and that they be placed outside their yards.
Resident Shefki Berbati said that KEDS did not intervene and that's why they reported the case.

As a result, according to him, he had to hire a private contractor when the power cables posed a danger to his family and property.
"We have been without electricity for four days because the electric poles have fallen. We reported the case to KEDS and KEK, no one has come to visit us. We have hired a private master to remove the wires because it was a big risk. We have had trouble with everything in the house. We have tried to find generators and simple things, otherwise if they don't come and react, we will have a lot of trouble," Berbati declared.
Resident Ismet Duriqi also expressed his complaint. According to him, residents are making solutions as best they can.
"As we were 30 years ago, so we have to be. There is a neighbor here who has a stable of animals. He just has to milk them by hand and he has all the tools he received from the Government and now he has to take care of them in the simplest way. By God, things are not in order. And I believe we have old and sick people here. Something is out of order. Now if I am guilty, then why should others suffer because of me and it is not a big problem, who knows what, so that the problem cannot be solved," he said.
But KEDS has given a different version. KEDS spokesperson, Lulzim Krasniqi, said that the problem was created after residents requested that the poles be moved outside their yards.
"They (the residents) have requested to be removed from their yards, which has been impossible, as there are cables underground. It should be understood that there are certain procedures that must be followed for such cases, which means that after eliminating the risk, the damaged poles are replaced with other poles. Meanwhile, for their relocation outside the yard or yards, as the consumers are requesting, a request for Technical Solutions must be made. However, despite their refusal, KEDS will still try to replace those poles, so that these consumers have electricity supply," said Krasniqi.
The residents of Ribari i Madh are not the only ones facing power outages and disruptions.
