The Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute has warned of the risk of flash floods in several locations in Kosovo today and tomorrow (November 18 and 19) as a result of high-intensity rainfall that began in the early hours of Tuesday.
"Based on data, models and observations of general hydrometeorological conditions in the country and the region, it is predicted that during the dates 18-19/11/2025 in our country there will be rainfall, which in some areas is expected to be of high intensity. These rainfalls may cause flash floods in some localities," the IHMK warned on Monday.

Rainfall amounts of more than 40 liters per square meter in 24 hours risk causing flooding, problems in all agricultural production activities, traffic problems, and the risk of landslides and mudslides.
The Emergency Management Agency, based on this announcement from the IHMK, has announced that it has taken all necessary measures to manage the situation in coordination with relevant institutions.
This agency has called on citizens to be careful while driving, to avoid areas at risk of flooding, and to report any emergency situation to the unique number 112.

KRU "Prishtina" warns citizens not to open sewage manholes
The Regional Water Supply Company "Prishtina" has warned citizens not to open sewage manholes, following warnings from the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute about flooding.
This is because, according to the RWC, rainwater can penetrate homes.
"During heavy rainfall, it is strictly prohibited to open sewer manholes so that rainwater can penetrate into the sewer, in which case water can penetrate into your homes," the RWC's call states.
The appeal states that half of the sewage lines (sewage) in the city of Pristina are old lines, which were dimensioned and installed a long time ago.
It is further stated that the sewage systems are shared (atmospheric and fecal) and this significantly worsens the operating situation in cases where there is heavy or heavy rainfall.
The appeal emphasizes the need to separate them.
"While the city of Pristina has undergone changes in almost every neighborhood with high-rise buildings - residential buildings - and an excessive increase in the number of residents, where they are shared, they must be separated," the RWC's call further states.
