The Central Election Commission has announced that at its meeting on Thursday, it did not certify two new political entities for participation in the June 7 snap elections. However, three coalitions, 17 political parties and one independent candidate were certified.
The refusal of certification was for the civic initiative Slozno Pobedujemo and the SDA party (Stranka Demokratske Akcije). According to the CEC announcement, both of these parties failed to meet the legal criterion for the necessary number of signatures required during the certification application.
Other political entities that have applied have been certified, including coalitions.
These include: the Vetëvendosje Movement Coalition, which consists of four registered political parties: Vetëvendosje Movement!, Guxo, Alternatia, and the Albanian Democratic Christian Party, and the coalition called Koalicija Vakat, which consists of two registered political parties: Demokratska Stranka Bosnjacka and Demokratska Stranka Vatan.
Also the coalition called United Ashkali, which consists of 3 registered political parties: the Ashkali Party for Integration, the Democratic Party of Ashkali of Kosovo and the Movement for Cooperation and the independent candidate Esmir Kasi.
The CEC has announced that 17 more political parties have been certified for participation. Among the political parties that have been certified for participation is the Social Democratic Party.

Today is the deadline for new political entities to apply for the June 7 elections.
In the next item on the agenda, the CEC said that a decision has also been made to increase the number of voters who can register to vote physically at the Kosovo consulate in Frankfurt. According to the CEC decision, the maximum number of voters who can register to vote at this diplomatic representation has been increased from 1,500 to 1,900.
The CEC had initially approved two polling stations for voting at the Kosovo consulate in Frankfurt, with a capacity of 750 voters for each of them.
However, due to the large number of registrations and the fact that only 113 vacancies remain, it has been assessed that there is a need to increase capacity, in order not to limit the right to vote for other interested citizens.
