On Tuesday, "Koha Ditore" stayed in Drenas, in an effort to reveal the truth about everything that has been published about the suspicions of abuse of the 16-year-old.

Initially, the newspaper met the lawyer, Gazmend Halilaj, who first brought the scandal in Drenas to the media.

Halilaj told the newspaper the incident from the beginning. He said that he did not know the victim and that he met him through an intermediary. "I understood the event through someone else", he said, "Koha Ditore" writes today.

The newspaper asked Halilaj to specify the time when he was informed about the abusive relationship of the VV policeman with the victim.

Evidence from the investigation raises the suspicion that the "hero lawyer" revictimized the girl from Drenas

"As soon as I found out, I presented it to the prosecutor's office", said Halilaj. The case of suspected abuse of a minor by the investigating police was filed at the Prosecutor's Office on February 5, 2019.

The newspaper asked him to clarify whether he is talking about the denunciation of February 5, or about the earlier case of suspicion of sexual abuse of the girl by the professor.

Halilaj has confirmed that he is talking about the last denunciation, about the case of the policeman.

He was asked if his relationship with the victim ever exceeded the professional relationship. "Never. In no form. Never", he said.

When asked to accurately describe his relationship with the victim, he said:

"Ordinary citizens. People…".

When the question was repeated to him whether he exceeded the professional reports, he answered: "No. No….God Rune. No, no, nooooo".

"You can change this, but there is absolutely nothing," said Halilaj.

He denied that he often talked to the victim on the phone. "Very little. Rarely. I can count them on my fingers", he said.

But, according to the investigation, hundreds of "screenshots" that were saved on the victim's phone, and that were found after identification by the investigator... (read more today in Koha Ditore) say something completely different.
