The first registered case of monkeypox in Kosovo has completed the period of isolation and monitoring, the National Institute of Public Health has announced.
The NIPHK had detected the case on December 26. On January 16, three weeks had passed since the confirmation and since that day, no other cases of monkeypox have been reported in Kosovo.
The patient has been released from the Infectious Diseases Clinic and, according to the National Institute of Public Health, is in good health and has been recommended for additional care. Meanwhile, his contacts have not shown any suspicious signs and all have returned to normal after monitoring.
"IKSHPK continues to continuously monitor the epidemiological situation regarding Mpox and other contagious diseases in the country," the announcement states.
