Ramaj: The opposition will have a leader for the first time if Thaçi is released and returns to politics

Saranda Ramaj

Political expert Saranda Ramaj has said that if former Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi returns from The Hague as innocent and decides to engage in politics, then the opposition would become an opposition leader.

She said that she does not believe that PDK will receive 40 or 30 percent of the votes, but that according to her, incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Vetëvendosje would have an opposition with a leader.

"I do not believe that Mr. Thaçi's return as innocent would change the political scene much, but what would change and what I believe Mr. Kurti has in mind, since 2020 when Kurti came to power, for the first time perhaps the opposition will have a leader, if Mr. Thaçi decides to get involved in politics," Ramaj emphasized.

According to her, LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku has never been considered an opposition leader.

Ramaj said that Abdixhiku is only an opposition member of a part of his party.

Ramaj also emphasized that the September 16 decision on the former KLA leaders, whatever it may be, is one of the most important for how Kosovo will move forward in many processes.
