The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has said that the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc water channel in the village of Varage in Zubin-Potoku is a serious crime that affects the lives of citizens and affects the process of normalization of relations in the region. He called on the European Union to immediately lift the measures against Kosovo.
He added that "this criminal attack must be cleared and punished as soon as possible with the support of international partners".
"Meanwhile, the European Union should immediately remove the remaining sanctions against Kosovo and re-engage in a new dialogue format for normalization between Kosovo and Serbia. The existing format has failed to produce the desired results and it is time for the issues of dialogue to go through the EU's bilateral relations with Kosovo or Serbia, as two equally independent states, where the European destiny of each state cannot to depend on the wishes or dislikes of the other state; just as the European fate of the entire region cannot depend on the non-recognition of Kosovo by Serbia or 5 EU member states", he wrote on the X platform.
