The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, has said that Kosovo must act as soon as possible to return to the table with Serbia, since as he said, it may be forced to "swallow" something heavy over time.
Rama added that Kosovo is wasting time by not accepting the Franco-German plan and that the lost opportunities for negotiations are leading to Serbia's advantage.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support Contribute"Every hour that passes, every day coming around, lecturing Europe, showing how Kosovo is protecting values that Europe has forgotten when it sees Kosovo, is wasted time that can lead to digestion like salt in sea of all the will of the Euro-Atlantic community. Tomorrow it may happen that Kosovo will be forced to swallow something heavy, while today it is not forced to swallow something, but it is forced to work for Serbia to swallow what has been put on the table for Kosovo".
He has added that he will continue to call on Kurti to withdraw from his actions.
"Please Albin, please understand that you are wrong, understand that it is time to embrace the Euro-Atlantic community, to sit together with the Euro-Atlantic community and take this victory that they brought to the table and you don't see that you have it there".
Rama said that the Albanians should advance the Franco-German plan and give it a voice. According to him, Kosovo has the opportunity to use the opportunities that are being given to force Serbia to accept this plan and open the doors to recognition and the future.
"Kosovo has on offer the best possible table for its future. There is the Franco-German plan on the table, which is Kosovo in the first place, and we, the Albanians, are the first interested parties who must push it forward until the end, insisting on the table, insisting on using this great potential, of the alliance and of friendship with the Euro-Atlantic community to force Serbia to accept the Franco-German plan, which practically means the final opening of the future path for a Kosovo recognized by all and sitting on its seat in the United Nations. If we forget this, then we enter a forest without an ax when we are told and we no longer understand what we are talking about", said Rama in an interview for Euronea.
Rama has reiterated his position alongside the Euro-Atlantic community regarding the north of Kosovo.
"My position is the same as the position of the Euro-Atlantic community, not out of servility, but because it is clear that while this storm is developing in a glass that risks exploding and getting the situation in the north of Kosovo out of control, the tables must be turned. The most interested in turning the tables is the Albanian people".
Rama declared that he cannot understand Prime Minister Albin Kurti in the situation created with Kosovo in relation to internationals. He said that the Franco-German plan cannot stay there forever and the Prime Minister of Kosovo cannot win this diplomatic battle just like "Don Quixote".
"Albini is a person whom I value, a friend whom I respect, but in this case he is the prime minister of Kosovo whom I do not understand", said Rama.
According to him, Kurti, the government of Kosovo, the police and all the authorities must work hard to take the big step of final liberation from the shadow of ignorance and, above all, to normalize relations with Serbia.
"Having reached this point, having put Serbia in a tight box, the Euro-Atlantic community can neither understand nor justify nor tolerate the behavior of the Kosovo authorities and the approach of the Prime Minister, Albini, which is a behavior as if this other one did not exist, as if we were who knows how many years ago and as if this whole process had not happened. Meanwhile, when we have the entire Euro-Atlantic community ready to pressure Serbia, to finally accept, if not formal recognition, to accept the de facto relinquishment of Kosovo and the opening of the way for the recognition of all the others that necessarily then will lead to the formal recognition of Serbia, it is inexplicable what the Kosovo authorities who are opposed to this process are looking for", said Rama.
Asked if he communicated with the Serbian president and his relationship with him, after the cooling of relations with Kurti, Rama answered: "Albin Kurti is my friend, Hashim Thaci is my brother, let's be clear. In the meantime, I contacted the president of Serbia while the three policemen were being held in Serbia", adding that he will not comment further on this.
While talking about former president Bill Clinton's visit to Tirana, Rama mentioned that he was key in the Kosovo issue during the war, but that he is not listening to him now.
"The two big fathers of what happened in Kosovo are Bill Clinton and Tony Blair, but there has come a moment when the child is not listening to the fathers."
