Alim Rama, a member of the Central Electoral Commission from the Vetëvendosje Movement, has criticized the selection of Burim Ahmetaj as head of the CEC executive, assessing that there were manipulations.
"What happened is that the panel changed the rules during the game. We vote on the decisions, but the secretariat enforces the rules. He manages the staff of the secretariat, hires people, monitors the implementation of election procedures, and when he tries to elect the president at all costs, he does so only to manipulate the elections", said Rama in KTV's Interactive.
He said that other parties, LDK, AAK, Nisma, Lista Serbe, with the help of PDK, have chosen a person they wanted.
According to Rama, the competition was opened at the end of June and the process was delayed. According to him, due to the disagreements about the establishment of the Commission, in the meeting of August 12, the CEC has scheduled a meeting between the members with the aim of changing a paragraph which talks about the composition of the commission.
"After the voting of this change, I requested that this process be canceled and another one be announced because legal security has been affected. But nothing has changed", he continued.
