The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has criticized the incumbent government for merits that, according to him, do not belong to it. He said that the Ministry of Infrastructure, with the incumbent Minister Dimal Basha, has promoted the opening of a local road in the capital as a central project.
Rama said that the Ministry was a co-financier in the project, but with a much smaller amount than the Municipality. Meanwhile, he emphasized that the capital is the investor and the main responsible for this project.
This is the Sofali - Kolovicë Abedin Dino connecting road, which was inaugurated by the acting minister on Friday, June 5. "The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has invested 1.5 million euros in this project," the ministry's press release said.
"The Minister cut the ribbon of a LOCAL road that is a project, management and contractual relationship between the Municipality of Pristina and the economic operator. In the absence of its own projects, the Government has chosen to make a ridiculous political spectacle with a project that belongs to the Capital, while the Ministry is only a co-financier and with a smaller participation than the Municipality itself," he wrote on Saturday.
He further presented the project contracts and the amount that the Municipality and the Ministry have allocated. According to him, the Municipality of Pristina has allocated 1,650,000.00 euros, and the Ministry 1,500,000.00 euros (planned for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026).
Rama has accused the Ministry of not paying a single euro this year.

Basha responds to Rama about the road to the capital: Propaganda does not replace work
The acting Minister of Infrastructure, Dimal Basha, has responded to the Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, after the latter accused the acting Government of taking credit for projects that, according to him, belong to the Municipality of Pristina.
In a Facebook post, Basha said that Rama, on the one hand, complains that the Government is not helping the capital, while on the other hand he admits that for the "Abedin Dino" road, which connects Sofala with Kolovica, the Government has allocated 1.5 million euros out of the 2.5 million euros that the project cost.
"Both cannot exist at the same time, Chairman. A little more concentration," Basha wrote.
He added that if 60 percent of the project was funded by the Government, then, according to him, "a thank you would be more appropriate than propaganda and disinformation."

Basha also listed other infrastructure projects in Pristina, which he said were financed by the Government.
"Abedin Dino Street - project value 2.5 million euros, of which 1.5 million euros financed by the Kurti Government. Continuation of Bajram Bahtiri Street with four lanes - project value 2.5 million euros, with 1.4 million euros financed by the Kurti Government. Connection to the Lakrishta district (connection of the City Ring Road with the Pristina–Fushë Kosovë–Mitrovicë road and the Lakrishta roundabout) - project value 4 million euros, with 1.4 million euros financed by the Kurti Government," he wrote in reaction.
Meanwhile, he has accused Rama of propaganda.
"Citizens see the roads, projects and investments, and it's good for the Mayor to work, not complain, because propaganda does not replace work," Basha wrote.
Basha's reaction came after Rama said that the Government is making a "political spectacle" with the Sofali-Kolovicë "Abedin Dino" connecting road, emphasizing that the Municipality of Pristina is the investor and main responsible for the project, while the Ministry of Infrastructure is only a co-financier.
