Serbian and Albanian citizens of Zubin-Potoku express their demands to the Municipality

Albanian and Serbian citizens participated in a public hearing organized by the Municipality of Zubin-Potoku on Wednesday. They expressed their demands before the chairman of the directors of the Municipality regarding the planning of the budget for the period 2025-2027. And, the mayor Izmir Zeqiri promised a solution to everyone

The problems he faces every day in the neighborhood where he lives, a Serbian citizen expressed on Wednesday to the mayor and directors of the Municipality of Zubin-Potoku.

In the public hearing that was held for the budget allocation for the period 2025-27, he requested the improvement of the conditions, separating the road and the current.

"The neighborhood where we live has problems with the road, so it is not asphalted and we have problems with electricity, so we ask you to help us fix these problems", he said.

Although no budget has been planned for these requests, Mayor Izmir Zeqiri promised a solution to the Serbian citizen.

"We will see what we will do for the neighborhood where you live, see how much the budget should be for those problems, because this is not included in the budget, but we promise you that we will help you to solve these problems ", he said.

The residents of Çaber village had another request for the mayor. They stopped at the school.

"We ask you to paint our school in the village of Çaber, since the conditions are not good, we also ask you to fix the toilets, since they are not in good order," said an Albanian citizen.

Outside the hall where the meeting was held, the citizens expressed their satisfaction with the work of Mayor Zeqiri.

"The mayor's work so far is very good, he works as much as possible, in our village he subsidized several greenhouses and helped farmers in their businesses", said an Albanian citizen.

And a Serbian citizen spoke about the pressure being put on them by the Serbian List and from Serbia.

"I don't want to speak in front of the camera, because we have political pressures. For example, they threw a stun bomb at a colleague for the purpose of intimidation, because she has cooperation with the Municipality, some of us want to talk, but we don't have the opportunity", he said.

For the year 2025, the Municipality of Zubin-Potoku has planned a budget of 882 thousand euros. Public hearing for budget planning in this municipality is expected to be held on September 5 and 6.
