The acting government of the Republic of Kosovo has announced that on Monday it held an electronic meeting, in which it established the Mandatory Health Care Fund of the Republic of Kosovo.
The establishment of the Mandatory Health Fund is foreseen with The Law on Compulsory Health Care Insurance, which was approved this year before the Assembly was dissolved.

Letter to the Reader — Why We're Asking for Your Support ContributeAccording to the Law, some of the duties and responsibilities of the Fund are to implement health insurance policies, determined by the Ministry of Health, to ensure the implementation of this Law, as well as to propose the level or amounts of contributions to be paid, co-payments, additional payments, and other financial means for compulsory health care insurance based on an assessment of the revenue and expenditure situation, over a medium-term period for approval by the Governing Board.
The acting Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, has also written about the establishment of the Fund.
"This is an important step towards building a mandatory health insurance system and the gradual implementation of the rights and benefits provided for by this law," Vitia wrote on Facebook.
The meeting held on Monday also stated that the Ministry of Health's request for the allocation of budgetary funds in the amount of 400 thousand euros for the implementation of the Agreement with the United Nations troops was approved.
According to the announcement, at this meeting, the decision was also approved to allocate budgetary funds in the amount of 153 thousand euros in order to support the realization of three events within the framework of "OctoberTech" - an initiative that is said to bring together the largest technology and innovation events in Kosovo.
