The government bans TikTok in public institutions

The Government of Kosovo on Friday made a decision to ban TikTok in public institutions.

During the presentation of this agenda item, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that the Ministry of the Interior has proposed banning the use of TikTok in institutions "in order to eliminate cyber risks".

The Deputy Minister of the Interior, Bardhyl Dobra, has said that all institutions are obliged to set the necessary technical restrictions to ban TikTok.

"All public officials are required to remove TikTok from their devices. It is allowed on personal devices, but not through the state network", said Dobra.

The ban on Chinese-owned TikTok follows the example of several European Union countries that have done the same.
