The Government of Kosovo has canceled the competition for the chairman and two members of the Public Procurement Review Body.
The PRB board has been without a mandate since the end of March. Without a functional board, the signing of favorable contracts is at risk.
The government has not given reasons for the cancellation of the competition, which was announced at the time of the Hoti Government, on January 12.
Meanwhile, KOHA learns that more than 200 requests have been received, which cannot be handled without the election of a new board. According to procurement connoisseurs, the tenders for which complaints have been submitted risk being signed despite the alleged violations due to the passing of legal deadlines.
PRB has been without a board since March 31. In advance, two contests have been opened for the replacement of its members. Procedurally, a complaint must be answered within 34 days from the date of receipt in the PRB.
In 2016, when the PRB was left without a board for about 6 months, all complaints that had not been answered within this period were not handled at all by the new board, while the tenders were signed despite the violations.
