The Electoral Panel for Complaints and Appeals has imposed a fine of 4,500 euros on the Coalition for Families, due to violation of the Code of Conduct for Political Entities.
The complaint to the ECAP was filed by the non-governmental organizations CEL Kosova and Dylberizim, alleging that the political entity's candidates, during a rally and in television appearances, have used inflammatory and discriminatory language against the LGBTI+ community, as well as that they have promoted division and fear among citizens and incited hatred.
The complaint mentions the candidates for MPs of this entity: Fatmir Smajli, Eman Rrahmani, Visar Korenica and Asdren Bytyqi.
In response to the complaint, the Coalition for Families said that its candidates have never incited hatred on the basis of sexual orientation.
