Works on the Kijevë–Zahaq road, Police ask companies to increase security measures

Kosovo Police

Kosovo Police has asked companies carrying out works on the expansion of the Kijevë-Zahaq road segment to improve temporary road signaling, with the aim of increasing safety for traffic participants.

The request was made on Friday during a working meeting held at the Regional Road Traffic Unit in Peja, where the unit's commander, Captain Teki Sylaj, together with his colleagues, met with representatives of the companies that are carrying out the works in this segment.

According to the Police announcement, during the meeting, road safety and traffic management were discussed during the construction works, with particular emphasis on the increased flow of vehicles during the summer season, due to the arrival of compatriots.

The police asked the construction companies to increase and improve temporary signage, by placing additional warning and directional signs in the areas where the works are taking place, in order to prevent the risk of accidents and ensure the safest possible traffic.

The Regional Police Directorate in Peja announced that it will continue implementing operational plans and preventive measures to increase traffic safety.

At the same time, the Police called on all drivers to respect traffic rules, road signs, speed limits and instructions from police officers, showing increased caution in segments where works are taking place.
