"Pastrimi" workers continue strike, demand return of funds to start work

The Workers' Union of the Regional Company "Pastrimi" has said that starting at 14:00 PM, the removal of trucks that were parked near the Pristina Municipality building will begin, while warning that the strike will continue.

The union said it supports the Supreme Court's decision that ruled that service invoices should be paid only to "Pastrimi", while adding that the strike will continue in the Municipality yard until the demands are met.

The union also said it apologizes to citizens and businesses "whose activities we have prevented due to the deployment of our company's vehicles."

Following the Supreme Court's ruling, trade unionists made demands for the Municipality of Pristina, including the return of financial resources, a call for invoicing payments through "Pastrimi", the removal of private operators, and a constructive and collaborative approach in the future.

"Return all funds illegally collected so far by the Municipality of Pristina, as soon as possible so that we can start waste collection. Make a public statement in the media by the relevant authorities of the Municipality, calling for billing and payments to be made exclusively through KRM Pastrimi. Completely remove private operators from the waste collection operation and begin full implementation of the regulation in force. Stop any misinterpretation by the municipal authorities, as any action outside the Judgment is illegal and violates the rights of 900 workers, who risk losing their jobs. Have a more constructive and cooperative approach in the future, ensuring that the Union is informed and involved in all decisions that affect the rights of workers," the union's letter to the Municipality states.
