(Kosovapress) - The Trade Union Association of Physical Security in the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) protested on Tuesday against the continuation of illegal tendering, according to them, for low wages and severe working conditions.
"We are not privatized, we are on loan for 2+1 years" and "The tender enriches only one owner, while we are a company that belongs to KEK", were the inscriptions on the placards they held in their hands until they protested in front of the KEK facility.
They said they have not yet been paid their January salaries.
The Chief Trade Unionist of the Energy Corporation of Kosovo, Nexhat Llumnica, has said that the Internal Auditor's Report is not in accordance with the contract and that they suspect corruption and "tricks".
Llumnica has emphasized that as a result of KEK's mismanagement, Physical Security workers have not yet received their January salary. He called on the current government to take measures, adding that when the latter was in opposition, there was support for these demands.

"Today we are here once again to tell the Kosovo Energy Corporation why this department was not privatized, but borrowed. It has been tendered illegally for 20 years. Even today it is being tendered illegally. Recently we also have an internal auditor's report where it shows that it is not in accordance with the contract. Therefore, we are suspecting that there is fraud and corruption here and this is the reason why tenders are being tendered from now on... We also have arguments for this and today these workers, as a result of the economic operators who continuously received tenders. As a result of the bad management of KEK, today these workers have not received their salary for January on February 20...Therefore, once again I appeal also to the government of the Republic of Kosovo, since it was in the opposition, it has supported us for this legal right of ours because this department has not been privatized", said Llumnica.
Even the representative of physical security workers in KEK, Nexhat Murati, has stated that they are "loaned" workers, in private companies illegally by KEK, for which he added that the abuses are very big.
He stated that he is giving KEK a deadline until the beginning of next month for the execution of salaries, otherwise, according to him, "they will no longer wear the uniforms of private companies".
Murat said that some workers called him today and told him that they do not have money to travel to participate in the protest.
"We are workers loaned to private companies illegally by KEK, where the abuses are so great that we can't tell you in words, you can't guess, millions are abused...I We invite KEK, the Board, the Ministry, the government, that we have addressed them with written requests and we have also argued to them on legal grounds, which are that we are employees of KEK and we have the relevant documents, KEK also has them , but these people are continuing with an old and corrupt tender, where the profits that are normally very large from these KEK people, if they return us to KEK, where we have our place, they can no longer take tenders cannot receive money, and housing and many, many other goals... We are waiting until 30 and we will not wear any uniform of private companies again. This is the last, let them fire us from work because "We are already tired. People have not received their salary for the month of January, today several people called me and said, 'I don't have two euros to come to work,'" said Murati.
Meanwhile, after nearly an hour of protest in front of the KEK office, in the square, the head of the KEK Union together with two other workers entered the KEK offices to talk, but after the meeting, Murati said that they did not reached agreement on nothing.
He said that he was met by the chief of staff of the KEK, who had told them that they would notify them via email to schedule another meeting, in order to discuss the ambiguities.

"Here is a crime being committed... No, we did not understand anything. He told us to notify him via email, with another meeting. I accept the email that he received it, but he did not read it, that he does not read it at all. Once he said I didn't get it... At the meeting, the head of KEK's cabinet met us... These are thieves... On the 22nd, they called a meeting with thieves, but we will complete the work ours today", said Murati.
They have protested earlier regarding these demands.
