A citizen's protest before the UK: Farmers fled from Kosovo due to abuse

Nexhmi Hyseni, a citizen from Batllava e Podujeva, protested today in front of the Ministry of Agriculture for, as he says, the injustices committed by the leaders of this ministry.

He demanded the resignation of Minister Besian Mustafa after the subsidy scandal.

"Today, I came to hand over a decision that I received from the Basic Court to the minister and to ask the minister to resign as soon as possible and to apologize to the farmers that with his instructions, the head chief, head priest Agim Nuha, was appointed. Minister Besian Mustafa decided it himself. So we ask him to resign as soon as possible and apologize publicly because I and some farmers have been in the office and informed him about the problems that the Ministry of Agriculture has caused us, but he didn't even want to listen, he said I decided myself, you deal with the Prosecutor's Court", he said.

Hyseni further added that this category is not even being given the opportunity to follow the legal paths for the injustices caused to them, as he says that the cases in the courts are taking years.

"Now the Ministry of Agriculture has complained to the Court of Appeal, this is from 2013, now we are 2021, more than 7 years. Now the Court of Appeals is delaying it for another 7 years, since the farmers can fight corruption by waiting 14 years for a case in the Court. So the farmers left Kosovo, ran away from the corruption of them, who fill their pockets and packages with the money of our sweat", he said.

He further demanded the arrest of the former ministers of this ministry. According to Hysen, everyone has benefited from this category, adding that farmers have not received support from the state.

"As long as Blerand Stavileci, Kapllan Halimi, Nehat Veliu, Elhami Hajdari are not arrested. Then former minister Memli Krasniqi, he should also be arrested", he further added.

Yesterday, an action took place in the Agency for Agricultural Development, from which 11 people were arrested for misuse of subsidies and bribes.
