The Special Prosecutor's Office downgraded the preliminary investigation against Lutfi Haziri

An investigation, which is legally the competence of the Special Prosecutor's Office, was transferred to the Basic Prosecutor's Office in Gjilan last year. According to information within the Prosecutor's Office, the mayor of the Municipality of Gjilan, Lutfi Haziri, is under pre-criminal investigation for this case.

The investigation has to do with the construction of several roads and the favoring of a company in this process by the Municipality of Gjilan, "Koha Ditore" writes today.

A year before the Special Prosecutor's Office transferred the case to the Basic Prosecutor's Office, the investigation was in the phase of gathering evidence for suspicions of corruption in the awarding of tenders in this municipality. Sources of the investigation have explained to the newspaper that the investigation is related to four tenders that were illegally awarded to a company. According to this source, the Evaluation Commission had initially eliminated a company.

"The evaluation commission has considered that one of the companies is irresponsible and that it does not meet the criteria to receive the contract", he said.

After these results, according to the information of the investigation, the Municipality of Gjilan has created another commission for the same tender.
