The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has officially announced that our capital has been chosen as the "European City of Sports" for 2024.
This will affect our Pristina to be a destination and center of many sports activities that will be held during 2024, reports KosovaPress.
Mayor Përparim Rama expressed his happiness with the achievement of this great success for Pristina.
"I am happy to share with you the fantastic news that Prishtina has been declared the European City of Sport for 2024! This title is testament to our unwavering commitment to creating a city that embraces healthy living, inclusiveness and hospitality. A year full of sports events, community engagement and investments in sports infrastructure awaits us", said Rama.
Also, among other things, President Rama said that this title is a catalyst that Pristina needs to turn the focus to the importance of sport in society for a brighter and healthier future.
Together with Rama, the Director for Sports, Granit Rugova, and the first skier from Kosovo to participate in the Winter Olympic Games "Beijing 2022", Kiana Kryeziu, were present in a special ceremony at the headquarters of the European Parliament in Brussels./KP
