Qemajl Marmullakaj from the Kosovo Law Institute said that the acting president, currently Albulena Haxhiu, has all the legal powers to nominate a candidate for prime minister after the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly.
Marmullakaj stated on the "60 Minutes" show on KTV that, in the IKL's assessment, there is no legal basis that determines that it must be decided initially between the president and the government.

Marmullakaj spoke on the "60 Minutes" show on KTV about the possibilities of cooperation between political parties on the issue of the president. According to him, the Vetëvendosje Movement can elect the president only with the Democratic Party of Kosovo, based on the number of MPs.
"Only with PDK can the Vetevendosje Movement resolve the issue of the president in terms of votes and of course with minority votes. If it does not reach an agreement with PDK, then it will have to do it with LDK and AAK, both together. However, the parties congratulated each other on their victory, it seems that there is room for talks regarding this issue. It is now up to the Vetevendosje Movement as the largest political force to take the first step in relation to other political parties regarding the issue of the president," Marmullakaj said.
Based on the seats won by political parties, Marmullakaj stated that the changes compared to the preliminary results show that the diaspora still trusts the Vetëvendosje Movement.
The counting of postal votes for the June 7 elections has been completed at the Counting and Results Center.
According to the results, the Vetëvendosje Movement received 60.003 votes or 72.94%, followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo with 9.881 votes or 12.01%, the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 6.758 votes or 8.21%, and the Alliance with 3.444 votes or 4.19%.
