Islamic preacher from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elvedin Pezic, is expected to be expelled from Kosovo during the day, after he was escorted by Kosovo Police the day before an activity in Vitomirica, Peja, a source informed about Pezic's organization and stay in Kosovo told Radio Free Europe (REL).
According to this source, so far there is no other information about the reasons for Peziq's association.
Meanwhile, the Council of the Islamic Community of Kosovo in Peja told REL that the BIK had not been aware of Peziq's arrival and his activities in Kosovo.
According to BIK, Peziqi had not requested permission or consent for the activity, while the institution had not provided material or logistical support for his visit.
BIK confirmed that there has been communication with the Kosovo Police regarding the case.

"The Kosovo Police has written to us and we have responded," said the BIK Council in Peja, without providing details about the content of the communication.
The BIK Council added that any religious activity in religious buildings or other facilities must have the permission or consent of the religious institution.
The congregation of a mosque in Dobrusha had shared the announcement of Peziq's planned activity on social media.
Pezić was accompanied on Thursday for an informational interview, before an activity he was scheduled to attend in Vitomirica.
The news was confirmed by Rexho Kojic from the non-governmental organization "Young Volunteers" from Kosovo, which was the organizer of the activity.
Kojic had said that Pezic had been transferred to a police station in Pristina and that he had regularly entered Kosovo through the border crossing in Kulla, with Bosnia and Herzegovina documents.
According to him, the police had told him that Pezić would be held for six hours for identity verification and that there was no need to hire a lawyer.
Kojic also said that Peziq was asked if he had permission from the Islamic Community of Kosovo to hold the activity.
"He is not a imam in any mosque and did not need such permission. It was about promoting a book," Kojic said.

REL has also contacted the Municipalities of Peja and Prizren, as well as the Islamic Community of Kosovo, to request information on whether they were aware of Peziq's visit, whether they had a role in organizing the activities, and whether there was any institutional support or funding for his visit.
Mithad Qeman, also an Islamic preacher, was also scheduled to participate in the event, and, according to Kojiq, was escorted by the Police, but was immediately released.
Pezić and Qeman had planned to promote a book in Vitomirica and then hold an event in Dobrushë, Istog. An event was also planned for Friday in Reçan, Prizren.
Who is Elvedin Pezic?
Pezić is an Islamic preacher from Bosnia and Herzegovina, who has been active online for years and is known for his conservative stances and as one of the preachers who identify with Salafism.
He has more than 300 followers on Facebook and is also active on other platforms, where he publishes lectures, religious advice, and comments on social issues.
His views have been criticized in the past in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina had reacted to a statement by Pezić on the role of women in Western society, assessing that such views are not in line with Islamic teachings on the rights and obligations of Muslim women.
Kojic, however, told REL that, in his opinion, Pezic does not pose a threat to Kosovo's security.

"If there had been any indication of such a thing, we would not have supported such a gathering," he declared.
REL is awaiting a response from the Kosovo Police to clarify the reasons for the escort, Peziq's status and the possible legal basis for his removal from Kosovo.
