Border points with Serbia are expected to be blocked on Friday

Serbs organized by the Serbia Blockade Council are expected to block all the roads leading to the border crossings with Kosovo on Friday. Institutions in Kosovo have asked citizens to avoid transit through these points, as well as from the one with Montenegro, Kulle. And, political experts say that such blockades are organized by official Belgrade

On Friday, all Serbia-Kosovo border crossings are expected to be blocked by the Serbs after the call of the Organizing Council for Blockades in Serbia.

The blockade has been warned to take place on the territory of Serbia, on the roads leading to the border crossings with Kosovo.

Because of this, the institutions in Kosovo have called on citizens to avoid crossing from Serbia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked citizens to avoid transit through border crossings with Serbia.

The National Center for Border Management called on Thursday that the border should not be crossed even at the only crossing point with Montenegro, Kulle.

"All citizens of the Republic of Kosovo and members of the diaspora who plan to transit through the territory of Serbia and to PKK Kulle (Montenegro) are hereby notified to avoid all entries and exits at the border crossing points between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia, but as well as with PKK Kulle with Montenegro", the announcement states.

It has been warned that only Serbian citizens from Serbia, Montenegro and Republika Srpska will participate in this blockade to oppose the presence of the Kosovo police in the north and its actions to close illegal Serbian institutions.

In the north, Serbian citizens refused to declare whether they will join this protest.

But the political analyst Branislav Kërstić has said that the Serbs from Kosovo will not participate in blocking the border roads, since, according to him, they are clear that this method does not help their situation.
"Those blockades have no future. That is to say who are those blockades for, for the Serbs from the north of Kosovo or for the Serbs from the municipalities from the center of Kosovo, no, certainly not. All this is just a sign that Aleksandër Vučić is controlling not only the state, the media, the institutions, but also the extreme groups which are in a position of reaction with a consequence that is counterproductive for the Serbs of Kosovo.

The warning about the blockade was made a few days after the police closed 5 offices of parallel structures in the north on suspicion of document forgery.

In the action of August 30, the offices of four parallel municipalities were closed: Mitrovica, Leposavic, Zubin-Potok and Zveçan, as well as the District Office of Mitrovica.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the Police interviewed the leaders of these offices with suspicions of document forgery.

The international community has criticized the Government for this and other actions in the north, inviting it to refrain from "actions that could incite tensions".
