Nuk janë paraparë bisedime të reja për president në periudhë të afërt kohore e as nuk ka iniciativë të tillë në mes të Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje dhe Lidhjes Demokratike të Kosovës, pas tërheqjes së Bekim Sejdiut nga kandidatura.
“Deri në këtë moment nuk ka as biseda, as ndonjë iniciativë të tillë”, ka thënë Jehona Lushaku, deputete e LDK-së, për EkonomiaOnline.
Ajo ka thënë po ashtu se LDK-ja është në pritje të vendimit të Gjykatës Kushtetuese lidhur me procedurën e konstituimit të Kuvendit dhe formimit të Qeverisë. Për të dyja këto çështje, Partia Demokratike e Kosovës ka kërkuar masë të përkohshme.
Burime nga Vetëvendosje kanë thënë për KOHËN se nuk është planifikuar takim për këtë javë me përfaqësuesit e LDK-së.
Ndërkaq nënkryetari i LDK-së, Lutfi Haziri, ka thënë për Radion Evropa e Lirë se “nuk ka takime pa vendim të Gjykatës Kushtetuese”.
A day earlier, Sejdiu, whose name was agreed upon in an agreement between Vetëvendosje and the Democratic League, withdrew his candidacy, saying he lacked the parliamentary votes to be elected. He also said the entire process was flawed. The numbers to reach the 80-vote threshold from this agreement became uncertain when six LDK deputies came out against the agreement.
The presidential issue led Kosovo to elections on June 7. At that time, the Assembly failed to elect a new president after the end of Vjosa Osmani's term.
The Assembly was constituted two months or more after the certification of the results, even though the Constitution requires that the constitution be made within 30 days of certification.
The Assembly was declared constituted without a deputy speaker from the ranks of the PDK.
Before the announced constitution, the leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, justified the postponement by saying that without an agreement on the president, the constitution of the Assembly, but also the formation of the Government, new elections would not be avoided.
