Five people have been killed in just one week in Kosovo. This figure is considered alarming by lawyer Skënder Musa. According to him, a key element that security institutions should work on is the investigation of arms dealers.
Lawyer Musa stated on the "60 Minutes" show on KTV that it is very easy to buy a gun in Kosovo, and Musa says that this is the answer they get every time they ask, even minors.
Lawyer Musa also emphasized that we should not forget the fact that Kosovo is between two countries, Serbia and Albania, which have a large number of weapons and Serbia even has a factory that produces them.
"The problem is that the investigative institutions do not expose the networks that sell weapons because we cannot buy individual weapons without stopping their sellers. Let's not forget that Kosovo is between Serbia and Albania, two countries that have a large number of weapons. Serbia even has factories and many weapons sellers. It is very easy to obtain weapons in Kosovo. When we ask young people or minors where they bought weapons, they say it is very easy to find weapons. You can find weapons anywhere in Pristina, or in Mitrovica or Gjilan. There has not been a single person who said they had difficulty finding weapons, in all municipalities of Kosovo. How is it possible that the investigative institutions do not discover those weapons sellers and that there are so few people accused of selling weapons," Musa declared.
According to lawyer Musa, these types of murders only occur in Kosovo and Albania, in no other country in the region.

"We cannot say that the number of murders has decreased as claimed because, according to the media, such murders of citizens do not occur in this form in Serbia, Macedonia and Montenegro. These types of murders are only occurring in Kosovo and Albania, only where the Albanian nation is present, and the key element is the large number of weapons. It seems to me that all adults and minors have weapons, as if every house and apartment has weapons. Every conflict is ending with weapons," said Musa.
Lawyer Musa said that the five murders within a week in Kosovo also show the failure of all state links in Kosovo. He emphasized that the sentences imposed for murder in Kosovo are not low, but they are not reducing their number.
According to the lawyer, strategies must be found by the state.
"The issue must be raised at both the central and local levels, a strategy must be built and elements must be discovered that push citizens to choose the last resort, namely murder, before notifying the institutions. The murder in Klina was very serious, and the murder in Majac in Podujeva is extremely serious because three people lost their lives. These show the failure of the state links, starting from the central level, which are the relevant ministries, namely, raising the level of education at the Ministry of Education. Then to the issues of trials at the Ministry of Justice and to the intervention that is the Ministry of Interior, up to the local level," said Musa.
Lawyer Musa also said that awareness needs to be raised in Kosovo and another factor for the large number of murders is mentality because the manner of the murders is seen to occur without thought or a clear reason.

"There are murders that happen ad-hoc, even those who committed the murder have no explanation because they could have been friends. There is no organization for murder in Kosovo because in criminal literature when a murder is planned, the individual himself does the planning 3-6 months in advance. Albanians don't, they kill on the spot. As a criminal terminology, I haven't come across being hot-blooded or temperamental. They are simply unbearable. It's a primitive mentality, it's not even canon because by canon you don't kill your brother. The sentences are not low in Kosovo, they are high sentences but they are not having an effect. So other methods must be found," said Musa.
In pre-war Kosovo, according to lawyer Musa, murders were usually in the front part of the body, therefore, according to him, the murders after the war are not related to Albanian tradition.
"This is not related to the tradition of Albanians because at the door, not even the enemy was killed, as we say in popular jargon. This is a tradition created after the war and the method of murder also changes. Before the war, even in criminal sciences when the criminalistics of the former Yugoslavia were studied, murders in Kosovo were usually in the front part, now it is in all parts. The murderer now does not choose where to hit the victim," stated lawyer Musa on the show "60 Minutes" on KTV.
A person was killed on Saturday in the village of Bokshiq, Klina, where the suspect in this case is the victim's brother.
