The dismissal of Vjosa Osmani from the position of vice-president and member of the presidency has deepened the division within the Democratic League.
Based on online voting, almost half of the members of the General Council did not agree with the proposal of President Mustafa to dismiss Osmani and appoint Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti in her place, who until now was without a high party post, KOHA reports.
According to the letter of the head of the LDK addressed to the members of the General Council, Osmani was dismissed with 70 votes in favor, out of 95 who had voted in the General Council. 16 have expressed against, nine had abstained.
28 did not participate in the vote.
Apart from announcing the general result, the LDK media office did not provide data on who voted for, against, those who abstained and those who did not participate in the vote.
In an answer to TIME, the chairman of the LDK, Isa Mustafa, said that the voting is an internal process and that he can only guarantee the data published on Saturday night.
"Voting is an internal democratic process. Everyone's individual right. I only guarantee the accuracy of the data that was reported last night, as general results of the vote", said Mustafa.
But, from sources within the LDK, Koha finds out that among those who voted against Osmani's dismissal are the vice president of the LDK, Lutfi Haziri, then the minister Anton Çuni, the deputies Ardian Shala, Fatmir Rexhepi, Valentina Bunjaku and Faton Bislimi.

Meanwhile, Vjosa Osmani thanked the 53 members of the Council for not becoming part of, as she said, "political differentiation". She has sent a message to those who initiated and voted for her dismissal that very soon they will face each other in the election race.
"The real race is in front of the citizens, even though the vast majority of you differentiators are so cowardly that you will not dare to come out in that confrontation, but you will still hide behind someone else. But the big showdown will happen. I was raised by the people and only they will be able to bring me down", she wrote.
In addition to Osmani, there are also several deputies who faced criticism within the party due to their different attitudes from the leadership.
Deputy Haxhi Avdyli says that the chairman of LDK made a mistake when he thought that Osmani and others will leave the party alone. As for the future, Avdyli has warned of a battle within the LDK and decision-making in accordance with the will of the electorate, although he admits that it will be difficult.
"... Now we, together with the people who voted for us, will sit down, we will consider all options, normally people are very indignant with these actions and have many requests for us to continue the journey within the LDK, but the space is really narrowed, because their goal was to leave us", said Haxhiu.

Avdyli has added that he suspects that Mustafa is carrying out purges within the party, in order to secure another mandate for president Hashim Thaçi, whom the LDK voted for in 2016.
Thaçi's five-year term ends in April next year, but so far he has denied any claims for another term.
