From March 2 to today, the price of oil in Kosovo has increased by 54 percent.

From 1.18 euros per liter, it reached 1.82 euros per liter on Tuesday.

The Chairman of the Oilmen's Association, Fadil Berjani, said that it is impossible to predict what the price will be in the coming days.

"Fuel prices, when the war in Ukraine began, were higher. But our citizens are being served at the cheapest prices in the region. I cannot prejudge what prices we will have in the coming days, because there are major movements in the stock exchanges and international markets," Berjani emphasized.

He also showed the current prices of oil and gasoline in Kosovo.

"Today's retail prices are approximately 1.74 euros to 1.82 euros for diesel, 1.40 euros to 1.44 euros for gasoline. The wholesale supplier price on Friday was 1.74 euros and will decrease after the war in Iran ends," Berjani declared.

Since the US and Israel launched a joint war against Iran, the price of oil has exploded and risen continuously. The war has disrupted the supply chain from the Middle East.

The Kosovo government has not yet taken any fiscal measures to ease the burden on citizens.

While Albania, Serbia, and North Macedonia have reduced excise duty and VAT to help consumers, the Kosovo Government has only decided to set a profit margin for traders, a measure that does not reduce prices, but only prevents abuses.
