The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has announced that it has severed the governing coalition with the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in Pristina.
The chairman of PDK in Pristina, Uran Ismaili, made this known, a few minutes after the Municipal Assembly voted to cancel the decision to exchange properties.
"After we annulled the decision on Badoc, we broke up the ruling coalition in Pristina. In the extraordinary meeting of the Municipal Assembly of Pristina today, PDK enabled the quorum and voted for the repeal of the decision on the harmful exchange of properties in Badoc. I just sent the official letter to Përparim Rama to communicate the decision to break away from the ruling coalition in Pristina. Directors of municipal directorates and shareholders of PDK in public enterprises have submitted their resignations", wrote Ismaili on Facebook.
He said that for two years of service, the PDK team brought a new dynamic to the capital and did exceptional work in each department.
"Under the excellent leadership of Vice President Sahatçiu, the directorates led by PDK have been evaluated as the directorates with the best performance, internally and externally. The liveliness, sincerity, positivity and dynamism that we had in our campaign 'Prishtina unites us' have been transferred to the governance of the Capital and the citizens are the best witnesses for this. We will not be part of a government that harms the public interest, where communication is lacking, where good work is not appreciated and meritocracy is despised. Never wanting Prishtina to be blocked, we withdrew from all positions to pave the way for the creation of a new majority in the capital", wrote Ismaili.
On Monday of this week, a few hours after the Vetëvendosje Movement and the PDK had announced that they had called an extraordinary session for Thursday (today), to cancel the decision on the exchange of properties, the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, dismissed the vice-president from his position from the ranks of PDK, Donjeta Sahatçiu.
Days before, he also dismissed the director of Public Services, Ilirik Musliu, also a member of the PDK.
